Responsibilities:

  • Address and resolve student grievances in a timely and fair manner.
  • Ensure compliance with the UGC (Redressal of Grievances of Students) Regulations, 2023.
  • Maintain confidentiality and impartiality in all proceedings.
  • Report all activities and resolutions to the institution's administration and OUHS as required.
The functions of the Student Grievance Redressal Committee (SGRC) of Rosalia Nursing Academy.
  • Receive and Examine Complaints: The SGRC is responsible for receiving complaints or grievances from students concerning any matter that affects their interests, including harassment, discrimination, admission-related issues, or any other unfair practices.
  • Conducting Inquiries: The SGRC is tasked with conducting fair and thorough inquiries into the grievances brought before it. This involves gathering facts, interviewing relevant parties, and reviewing necessary documents to ascertain the validity of the complaints.
  • Hearing the Grievance: The SGRC should provide a platform for the complainant and the respondent to present their case. This ensures that all parties involved have a fair chance to be heard.
  • Redressal of Grievance: The SGRC must take necessary actions to redress grievances within a specified time frame, usually not exceeding 15 days from the receipt of the complaint. The actions could include recommending corrective measures or any other appropriate remedies to resolve the grievance.
  • Recommend Disciplinary Actions: If the grievance involves serious misconduct or violation of institutional policies, the SGRC may recommend appropriate disciplinary actions against the person(s) found guilty.
  • Documentation and Reporting: The SGRC must maintain a record of all grievances received, actions taken, and the outcomes of the inquiries. These records should be submitted periodically to the institution's higher authorities for review.
  • Monitor the Implementation: The SGRC is also responsible for ensuring that the solutions or actions recommended to resolve the grievances are effectively implemented.
  • Follow-Up with Complainants: The committee may follow up with complainants to ensure that the grievance has been satisfactorily resolved.
  • These functions aim to create a transparent, fair, and effective mechanism for addressing student grievances within educational institutions under the regulations set by the UGC.
